About the Role
As a Software Engineer in this contingent role, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of complex data warehousing solutions using Ab Initio and Teradata. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions that meet business and compliance requirements. This role requires a strong technical foundation in ETL development, data analysis, and production support, with the ability to adapt to modern open-source technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design and implementation of moderately complex software engineering projects.
- Analyze and resolve technical challenges related to data integration and ETL workflows.
- Develop and maintain Ab Initio-based data pipelines and applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business and compliance needs.
- Troubleshoot production issues and lead incident resolution efforts.
- Contribute to planning and execution of large-scale data engineering initiatives.
- Work closely with QA and UAT teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Communicate risks, issues, and progress proactively to technical and business teams.
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field (including consulting, military, or academic experience).
- Hands-on experience with Ab Initio components (GDE, Conduct>It, Express>It, Continuous>Flows, Metadata Hub, EME, PDL/meta-programming).
- Strong expertise in Teradata, PL/SQL, and Unix shell scripting.
- Proven experience in full SDLC for data management applications.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Apache Spark and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with Agile SDLC methodologies.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Experience with SAS and SQL in a data analytics or ETL context.
- Exposure to QA and UAT processes.
