Job Summary

We are seeking a Biomedical Engineering Intern (Summer 2026). This position is a full-time internship, 100% onsite located in Columbus, OH. The application deadline is December 10, 2025.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer intern to join our research team focused on developing and applying non-animal in vitro models for therapeutics assessment. This role offers hands-on experience in advanced cell culture techniques, assay development, and data analysis within a collaborative and innovative environment.

The candidate will be mentored by experienced scientists and have an opportunity to contribute to projects with real-world impact.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work on product development projects:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of 3D in vitro models for efficacy testing.
  • Perform cell culture, including maintenance of primary cells and cell lines.
  • Conduct biochemical and molecular assays (e.g., cytotoxicity, viability, gene expression).
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data; prepare summaries and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Key Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelors or master's degree in Biomedical Engineering.
  • Must have at least two years of college coursework complete by the start of the internship.
  • Basic knowledge of cell biology and laboratory techniques.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be US Person according to US export laws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cell culture and sterile technique preferred.
  • Experience with 3D cell culture, organ-on-chip, or other advanced in vitro systems.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, GraphPad Prism, R).
  • Experience with fluorescent staining and microscopy.
