Description

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support our Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) efforts under the Mobility Platform Integration program. This position is based at the EastGate facility in Bedford, Indiana.

The Engineering Technician V will serve as the key liaison between SAIC's internal engineering, integration, kitting, and government design engineering teams. This individual will help ensure effective coordination and tracking of configuration across multiple disciplines, functioning as a central point of contact for program-level technical documentation, kit development, and fielding support.

This opportunity is ideal for a high-performing technician who has demonstrated the ability to operate independently, solve problems across functions, and take ownership of critical coordination activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary configuration point-of-contact between engineering, production, logistics, and government customer design teams.
  • Track and manage technical documentation and design changes for JLTV integration kits and platforms.
  • Coordinate engineering inputs for bills of material (BOMs), technical data packages (TDPs), and installation instructions.
  • Participate in and document design reviews, kit validation efforts, and integration milestones.
  • Support kit build operations and provide clarification to technicians and integration staff on design intent.
  • Maintain version control and change tracking in coordination with government design authority and internal drafting teams.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical leads to ensure kitting solutions meet functional requirements.
  • Communicate status to leadership and recommend process improvements for configuration and integration workflows.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (required).
  • Proven ability to interface with cross-functional teams, including engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and government customers.
  • Experience supporting configuration control and technical documentation tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as Creo, Windchill, or similar CAD/PLM platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supporting Marine Corps or JLTV-related programs.
  • Familiarity with Service Contract Act (SCA) labor categories and responsibilities.
  • Experience as a CAD Drafter IV or higher in support of military or government programs.
  • Working knowledge of BOMs, ECPs, redlines, and drawing standards.

Why Join SAIC:
This position offers a unique opportunity to take on increased leadership and configuration responsibility while remaining in a technician track. SAIC is committed to recognizing internal talent, and this role is ideal for a technician who has demonstrated advanced capabilities and leadership in support of mission-critical integration programs.
