Role: IT Security & Governance Analyst
Location: The Woodlands TX

Client is looking for a dynamic IT Security & Governance Analyst who will have a positive impact on the Information Technology team at its The Woodlands, TX. Corporate office location.
As an integral member of our Corporate IT team, the IT Security & Governance Analyst evaluates and monitors information security related configurations, processes, and controls across the company. This role research, recommends and implements changes to enhance information systems security and monitoring capabilities. The incumbent will interface with technical resources as well as business users.
Cybersecurity Engineer/Analyst who is responsible for day-to-day Cybersecurity tools, managing alerts, working closely with the Cybersecurity vendors as well as implementing Cybersecurity framework.
This person needs to be able to start from ground up, keen on managing his/her domain and be able to articulate to co-workers the importance of Cybersecurity. They should have experience working directly with EDR, MDR, Firewalls, SIEM, and M365 security tools.
This role leads initiatives to enhance the security of the organization including IT initiatives.
This role will provide support for projects and work with project teams across many different technical disciplines and geographic locations.
This role will be hands-on and be able to assist in System Administration and Service Desk duties and provide backup support when needed.
This person should have some related knowledge of ITand SOX compliance experience
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the security event management process including monitoring, logging, alerting, auditing, and reporting on threats, vulnerabilities and breaches. Works with Senior Manager to determine the appropriate thresholds and monitor the environment for anomalous behavior using various tools.
Identifies and evaluates potential threats and vulnerabilities (either detected internally or publicly announced) that could impact the companies’ applications or infrastructure and recommends mitigating controls to reduce the company’ risk.
Maintain workable knowledge and understanding of information security, risk management and regulatory compliance topics. Maintains professional/technical currency of information security knowledge.
Aid in the annual IT general controls process as deemed appropriate by the Senior Manager of Information Security & Governance.
Act as a back-up for other team members when required to do so.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology or related field required.
Two-year degree with certification in CISSP, CISA or CompTIA Security+ will be accepted in lieu of Bachelor s Degree.
3-5 years of experience in previous IT cyber security role required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
