  • Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently seeking a Network Administrator to join our team.

    JOB SUMMARY

    This role will be responsible for ensuring the computer network is current, fully operational, and performing as intended. Duties include installing, maintaining, and upgrading software and hardware necessary for efficient network operation.

    PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Knowledgeable with WIFI access point configuration.
    • Strong understanding of LANs, network performance tuning, and network design and implementation.
    • Skilled in problem solving, strategic planning, multitasking, and maintaining a quality-focused approach.
    • Proficient in coordinating technical tasks with a strong technical understanding and ability to learn quickly.


    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of three (3) years of professional networking experience.
    • High school diploma or higher required.
    • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Brocade switches, including VLANs, VLAN trunking, and port channel configuration.
    • Experience with Cisco Call Manager and Access Point configuration.
    • Knowledge of Quality of Service (QoS) for voice, video, and data.
    • Familiarity with spanning tree protocol and firewall configuration and support.
    • Ruckus AP and WIFI experience are a plus.
    • CCNA certification as a plus.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
    • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
    • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
    • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
    • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
    • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
    • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
