Role Overview
As a Safety Observer - Electric, you will play a critical role in ensuring safety compliance across electric transmission and distribution (T&D) projects. This position supports project teams during high-risk phases by monitoring construction activities, conducting safety briefings, and facilitating incident reporting.

Role Overview
As a Safety Observer - Electric, you will play a critical role in ensuring safety compliance across electric transmission and distribution (T&D) projects. This position supports project teams during high-risk phases by monitoring construction activities, conducting safety briefings, and facilitating incident reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and support inspection processes
- Conduct site safety audits and lead safety orientations for personnel and visitors
- Monitor daily safety briefings and escort site visitors as required
- Identify and report safety violations; coordinate corrective actions and verify resolution
- Collaborate with Project Management and SHEQ teams on incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAR/PARs)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and client-specific safety protocols
- Support emergency response and storm restoration efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in electrical T&D construction or maintenance
- Strong understanding of electric line work, substations, environmental regulations, and safety codes (NEC, NESC, OSHA)
- Experience with switching/tagging procedures and construction compliance monitoring
- Excellent observational and communication skills; detail-oriented and proactive
Required Certifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Background check clearance (per IUSA policy)
- First Aid / AED certification
- OSHA 30-hour certification
