Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated OSP Fiber Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of underground fiber optic infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling and specialized equipment, including jetting devices such as the "minijet" for compressed air fiber installation. Key Responsibilities Install, splice, test, and maintain underground fiber optic cables in various environments (urban, rural, commercial). Operate and maintain jetting equipment, specifically the "minijet" device, to install fiber using compressed air through microducts. Read and interpret construction drawings, fiber schematics, and route maps. Perform site surveys to assess installation feasibility and prepare for deployment. Ensure proper documentation of fiber routes, splice points, and test results. Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber lines using OTDR and other diagnostic tools. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to meet deployment timelines. Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all phases of installation and maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of experience in fiber optic installation or telecommunications fieldwork. Proficiency in using fiber tools such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power meters. Experience operating jetting equipment, particularly the "minijet" system. Strong understanding of OSP construction practices and fiber routing. Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Certifications in fiber optics (e.g., FOA CFOT, ETA). Experience with GIS mapping and digital documentation tools. Familiarity with local permitting and utility coordination processes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
