RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in South Bend, IN that is seeking a Data Engineer.

Current Reporting & Data Landscape:
* The organization is transitioning from an in-house data warehouse to an outsourced solution for all reporting needs. There is currently limited design work done within Cognos. The outsourced warehouse uses different table structures and conventions compared to the legacy system. As a result, the Data Engineer will need to quickly learn and adapt to these new structures in order to plan and convert legacy reports.

Ongoing Initiatives:
A larger data management program is underway. A major focus is developing strategies to educate business areas on using internal tools and understanding business structures, along with determining training frequency and sustainability. A critical part of this initiative includes converting legacy reports to work with the new data environment.

Technical Migration and Tools:
The legacy data warehouse is being transitioned to Azure Data Factory. Other internal components-such as ancillary files and table structures-will also be moved to Azure.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong experience with IBM Cognos is essential
* Ideally, the candidate has been through at least one Cognos upgrade, as we anticipate a system upgrade within the next year
* Solid understanding of how data models function within Cognos
* Experience teaching or training others in Cognos is a plus
* Familiarity with Cognos tables and functions is important

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
