Job ID:24-17706 Pay Range: $65 - $80/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location). Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor contractors for compliance with established Safety policies and procedures, and with all applicable federal, state and local governmental safety regulations.
  • Able to review client safety programs for completeness, adherence to safety standards and to all applicable federal, state and local governmental safety regulations.
  • Conduct Safety Surveys for client activities, including the preparation of Project Audits, to record the observation of safety performance and to make appropriate corrective recommendations.
  • Compiles and maintains safety performance data and statistics and communicates the statresults to field supervisor.
  • Attends reviews and evaluates quality and consistency of client safety meetings. This individual will encourage clients to conduct regular toolbox and other periodic safety meetings with their employees.
  • Conduct accident investigations as required, review accident investigation reports, review corrective action, and follow up with clients to assure that recommendations have been instituted.
  • Serves as a Technical Safety Advisor to all clients. Provides safety consulting and advice to clients regarding problems and challenges arising on the job.
  • Acts as client advocate to foster highest level of accident prevention.
  • Able to conduct technical orientations and training on safety related topics.
  • Participate in professional organizations to keep abreast of developments in the safety field.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • BA or BS with 5 to 10 years Health and Safety experience in Heavy Construction (or 10 to 20 years without degree).
  • Must have Rail and Bridge experience.
  • Successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards.
  • Completion of OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and own car.
  • Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and at meetings.
  • Possess good computer skills.
  • Ability to recognize Safety and Health hazards on Heavy Construction sites and be able to mitigate.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
