As the DevOps Lead / Solution Architect, you will design and implement LPL s next-generation deployment orchestration framework. You will be the technical SME and primary owner of the solution design, ensuring GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and ServiceNow are seamlessly integrated with governance guardrails, sequencing rules, and backward compatibility across ~25 existing technology patterns. You will collaborate with stakeholders, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the solution enables secure, reliable, and efficient environment promotions.
Responsibilities
Lead solution design for the GitHub Actions driven orchestration framework integrating Octopus Deploy and ServiceNow.
Define environment promotion flows (Future Active Staging Prod) and implement guardrails for branch validation, dependency enforcement, and approvals.
Develop reusable workflow templates and composite GitHub Actions.
Partner with stakeholders (Architecture, Engineering, Change Management, CAB) to establish governance and approval mechanisms.
Ensure backward compatibility with existing build/deploy scripts and artifacts.
Oversee orchestration cutover and validation across Future, Active, LDQA, QA Perf, Staging, Partner, and Production environments.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DevOps engineering team.
Drive operational excellence, ensuring deployment automation is reliable, resilient, and compliant with LPL governance/security policies.
Requirements
10+ years of professional SDLC experience with 5+ years in DevOps solution architecture.
Deep hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and ServiceNow integrations.
Strong background in environment promotion flows, orchestration guardrails, and CAB approval automation.
Experience supporting diverse tech stacks (e.g., .NET, Angular, Java).
Proficiency in CI/CD design, orchestration, dependency management, and rollback strategies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Core Competencies

Hands-on leadership with a strong balance of strategy and implementation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with GitOps, IaC, Canary/BG deployments, and modern DevOps practices.
