Description
We are looking for a skilled Technical Editor to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Woodland Hills, California. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in digital content creation and editing. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of published materials while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Review and edit newly created and updated content to ensure it adheres to specified guidelines and established workflows.
Conduct proofreading to eliminate grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors, and perform copyediting to enhance clarity, coherence, and style.
Perform substantive editing, including fact-checking, verifying accuracy, and ensuring logical development of ideas.
Apply a deep knowledge of product lines and the Chicago Manual of Style to maintain consistent messaging and style across all content.
Collaborate with writers, managers, and stakeholders to produce high-quality, error-free content that aligns with company standards.
Organize and update the Content Library to improve visibility and enable cross-functional collaboration within SharePoint.
Exhibit strong work habits, such as punctuality, responsiveness, and preparation for meetings and events.
Complete additional tasks as assigned, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
At least 1 year of experience in journalism, content publishing, or related fields.
Proven expertise in copywriting, copy editing, and proofreading.
Familiarity with digital content creation and publishing workflows.
Proficiency in applying editorial guidelines, including the Chicago Manual of Style.
Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure content accuracy.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
