Job Details

Role: QE Automation profiles with Annuities background

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

  • Test Case Development & Execution: Developing and executing both manual and automated test cases, specifically for annuity-related applications like Smartcomm and VPAS One.
  • Automation Strategy & Approach: Creating and implementing automation strategies for annuity systems, focusing on streamlining testing and improving efficiency.
  • Regression Testing: Conducting regression testing to ensure software updates or changes haven't introduced new defects to existing annuity functionalities.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): Integrating automated test scripts into the CI/CD pipeline for efficient and continuous testing.
  • Defect Identification & Reporting: Identifying, documenting, tracking, and assisting in the resolution of defects in annuity systems, often using tools like Jira or Quality Center.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with development teams, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements, refine test strategies, and ensure successful releases.
  • System Knowledge: Developing a deep understanding of annuity systems and business processes to effectively design comprehensive tests.
  • Tool Proficiency: Leveraging automated testing tools and frameworks like Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, etc., to build and maintain efficient test suites.
  • Data-Driven Testing: Creating and executing data-driven tests, using different data inputs to thoroughly test application functionality.
  • Performance and Load Testing: Analyzing and assisting with performance and load testing for annuity systems.

Desired Competencies and Skills:

  • Annuity Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of annuity contracts, lifecycle, and associated business processes.
  • QA & Automation Expertise: In-depth knowledge of software QA methodologies, processes, and automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in languages like Java, Python, C#, or Ruby is often required for scripting and framework development.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder interactions.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, diagnose root causes, and provide solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to test case design and execution.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum: Familiarity with Agile methodologies for managing software development and testing processes.
  • Experience with API Testing: Experience testing APIs (RESTful, SOAP) used in annuity systems.
  • CI/CD Integration: Understanding of CI/CD concepts and integration of automated tests into the pipeline.
  • Test Management Tools: Familiarity with tools like Jira, Xray, or Zephyr for test management and reporting.
