We are seeking a hands-on Document Management Systems Developer with strong experience in Kofax, Laserfiche, and .NET development. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a very high potential to convert into a full-time role if the fit is right.
The role is focused on direct development, integration, and problem-solving not management or strategic oversight. You will be working on critical document management systems that support Client s multi-year case management system replacement initiative.
Core Technical Requirements (Hard Skills)
Kofax / Tungsten (Mandatory) Hands-on development experience required
Acceptable flavors: Kofax Capture, Kofax KTM, Kofax Total Agility
Laserfiche (Mandatory) Must be able to develop directly in Laserfiche
Note: Documentum or other ECM backgrounds are not substitutes
.NET Development (Mandatory) Core for system integrations
VB / VBScript (Preferred, Soft Requirement)
Used for task automation and bridging technologies (e.g., between Kofax and .NET)
PowerShell may be an acceptable alternative
Development Tools & Environments
Microsoft Visual Studio (.NET development)
SQL Server Management Studio (SQL Manager)
Azure DevOps (requirements tracking and management)
Other supporting tools in a typical Microsoft / .NET environment
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Morning / Start of Day:
Review production environment across Oakland County
Check and work on incident/problem tickets
Troubleshoot and resolve issues
Ongoing Daily Activities:
Participate in requirements discussions for new projects
Collaborate with customers and business analysts to gather requirements
Perform hands-on coding, development, and integration tasks
Key Clarifications:
100% hands-on keyboard role
Not a management or strategic position
Strong technical problem-solving role
Candidate Characteristics
Must be stable and reliable no immigration dependencies
A strong technical doer who enjoys problem-solving directly
Comfortable in customer-facing interactions (requirements meetings, discussions with BAs, end-users)
Works well in a hybrid, collaborative environment
Should be viewed as a potential long-term hire even if starting as a contractor
