Job Details

Seeking a Manager of Application Engineering responsible for overseeing group design, build, implementation & supporting vendor-packaged & custom internal solutions that enhance a core platform (Symitar) & other enterprise applications, in line with a strategic plan & tech roadmap.

Responsibilities:
-Lead the design, development, and delivery of business solutions for optimizing operational efficiency through technology.
-Oversee a team of core developers, interact with business units and internal IT groups to deliver enterprise solutions that meet the organization s operational needs, utilizing software delivery best practices.
-Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong software engineering discipline, and knowledge of Symitar PowerOn.
-Must be an initiator who is self-motivated, creative, agile, accountable, efficient with strong analytical & interpersonal skills.

Work location: Broomfield, CO (hybrid)
Duration: Full-time position
Annual salary range: $113,000-$142,000

Duties:
-Manage & supervise the core development team distributed across scrum teams and business lines. Oversee resource administration, planning, allocation.
-Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) on team delivery and attend appropriate stakeholder ceremonies.
-Create a supportive team-oriented work climate that enables project and resource team members to develop professionally; and values diversity, promote teamwork, collaboration, and emphasize quality, customer satisfaction, creativity, and cost-effectiveness.
-Expertise & leadership in design & development concepts, practices, procedures & governance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality & efficient software solutions.
-Implement processes for continuous improvement of application management practices.
-Seek feedback from users, analyzes performance metrics, and identifies areas for enhancement or innovation.
-Define design patterns, review code, and ensure that solutions adhere to coding, compliance, and information security standards.
-Work with external vendors for integrated solutions. Stay up to date with vendor strategic roadmaps to influence the health of the application architecture.

Required skills & experience:
-At least 6yrs. of exp. with knowledge of financial institution technologies: Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center and OpCon.
-Exp. with software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
-Leadership & people management experience with an emphasis on coaching, mentoring, guiding & motivating team members on project, product delivery & career/professional development.
-Ability to influence executive leadership.
-Understand the principles of project management practices in an agile & iterative project management methodology.

Preferred skills, education & experience:
-Hands-on exp. developing, integrating & supporting core banking apps (Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen).
-Knowledge & exp. with IBM s AIX operating system, SQL development for relational databases, HTML & JavaScript.
-Knowledge of ITIL framework & exp. implementing engineering processes, procedures,
& templates.
-BS or MS in CS, IS, Engineering or equivalent.
