With a 200-year legacy and a shared passion for what's next, this is the right place to build a fulfilling career.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional service to internal clients, application teams, and business stakeholders. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure by guiding strategy, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DBAs across Oracle/Exadata, SQL Server, and emerging database platforms.
  • Own and prioritize issue resolution, ensuring root causes are addressed and recurring problems are eliminated.
  • Drive a culture of customer service, ensuring timely, clear, and professional communication with internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee database operations, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, patching, and incident response.
  • Collaborate with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Promote process improvement and efficiency, identifying and implementing automation and repeatable practices wherever possible.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and compliance standards in database environments.
  • Lead or support projects involving new database technologies, migrations, and infrastructure modernization.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in database administration with strong hands-on experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • 7+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams.
  • Deep understanding of database architecture, high availability, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and ownership.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional internal customer service in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and emerging databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, NoSQL) is a plus.
