Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to work onsite at our Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) facility in Vista, CA. This individual will be a contributing member of the Engineering team, providing support for IT related issues as well as software product development activities.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will work as part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain security systems for the aviation division of the SES Business Unit. The Systems Administrator will interact with Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Scientists to develop systems that are consistent with customer requirements. This individual's primary focus will be on proactively hardening and implementing secure baselines as well as troubleshooting IT Systems Administration issues related to computers in our products.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Cybersecurity Engineer will work as part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain security systems for the aviation division of the SES Business Unit. The Systems Administrator will interact with Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Scientists to develop systems that are consistent with customer requirements. This individual's primary focus will be on proactively hardening and implementing secure baselines as well as troubleshooting IT Systems Administration issues related to computers in our products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Integrate security requirements into IT systems, including system hardening and compliance and conducting vulnerability assessments
- Work across multiple technical areas, including hardware, software, and networking, to manage servers, switches, and Servers both Windows and Linux including Physical and Virtual
- Influence team leaders within the facility and CIO regarding solution design, process and/or approaches
- Assist in the infrastructure backbone administration including off hours windows/Linux updates, rack and stack of hardware not limited to servers, computers, disk shelf and virtual appliances
- Research and evaluate Cybersecurity tools and methodologies to automate and document best practices
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of directly relevant experience. Engineering Ops experience a plus
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting Windows 10, Linux, Windows Server, Windows drivers, and peripherals, TCP & UDP Networks, Hyper-V & VMWare and/or containerization
- Identify, Diagnose, and resolve IT related issues for the engineering users of the network, personal computers, servers, and software tools. In some cases, this will require that additional support is requested and coordinated with the Leidos IT support organization. Resolve networking related issues as they arise.
- Assist functional groups as needed for continuous improvement activities. In some cases, this will require the generation of scripts and/or generation of additional software tools
- Active DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (e.g. CompTIA Security+, Network+, CySA+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, etc).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot common network problems throughout the OSI layer model
- Familiar with Windows OS and a mix of Linux flavors
- Comfortable with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK Stack) or Splunk
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes,
- Experience with DISA STIGs and/or CIS Benchmarks
