Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with URI PeopleSoft developers and IT stakeholders to document technical and operational processes for HR, Finance, Payroll, and Campus Solutions modules.
Conduct structured interviews and workshops with developers to capture process details, system workflows, and support requirements.
Develop detailed runbooks that include:
Step-by-step process documentation
Troubleshooting guides for common issues
Descriptions of underlying technologies, interfaces, and dependencies
Key points of contact and support organizations
Reference materials, checklists, and escalation procedures
Organize and structure documentation for ease of use and knowledge transfer to backfill PeopleSoft developers.
Identify gaps or risks in current support processes and make recommendations for improvement.
Maintain collaborative relationships with technical and functional team members throughout the engagement.
Ensure all runbooks and supporting documentation are clear, complete, and up to date.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years' experience as a process architect, business analyst, or technical writer in ERP/enterprise systems environments.
Demonstrated experience documenting complex technical processes and developing runbooks or support guides.
Ability to conduct effective interviews and facilitate discussions with technical subject matter experts.
Excellent written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft environments, system administration, and technical support processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize technical information for diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education is highly desired.
Experience supporting or documenting ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, Oracle, or SAP.
Previous work with IT service management or operations teams.
Experience with knowledge management, technical documentation tools, or wiki platforms.
