Job Description

Experience: 8+ years in network engineering and cloud-native networking; 2+ years in WAF and FinOps-specific implementations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Network Specialist with deep expertise in network security, WAF implementations, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient network architectures in AWS environments, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats while aligning with cloud financial governance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions across AWS and hybrid environments

Configure and manage AWS networking services (VPC, Route Tables, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, etc.)

Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to ensure zero-trust architecture and traffic filtering policies

Monitor and analyze application-layer traffic and respond to threats using AWS WAF, Shield, and Firewall Manager

Implement FinOps best practices to optimize cloud spend related to networking services

Provide dashboards and reports on network traffic patterns and cost allocations

Work with cross-functional teams to forecast network usage and optimize data transfer and inter-region connectivity costs

Perform vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with security standards (CIS, NIST, etc.)

Automate network configurations and security rule deployment using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools

Required Skills:

Strong proficiency with AWS networking services: VPC, NACLs, Security Groups, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway

Hands-on experience with AWS WAF, AWS Shield, and Firewall Manager

Solid understanding of cloud networking and security architectures

Experience implementing FinOps practices for network-related cost optimization

Familiarity with cost allocation tags, AWS Cost Explorer, and billing dashboards

Knowledge of CDN integrations (e.g., CloudFront) and application layer security

Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools

Understanding of compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA (bonus)

Preferred Certifications:

AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty

AWS Certified Security Specialty

FinOps Certified Practitioner (by FinOps Foundation)

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science.
