3Core Systems is looking for Platform Engineer (Fastly) for one of our clients in Remote

Title: Platform Engineer (Fastly)

Location: Remote, and then hybrid onsite in one of these locations when it goes perm: Miramar, FL , Dallas, TX, Seattle, WA or Minneapolis, MN.

Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Platform Engineer (Fastly)

  • Preference on candidate posture: Software Engineer with solid Edge Experience
  • Micro Frontends using Module Federation is core to our product strategy here, so an understanding of how that works is important. I don t expect the individual to create applications using Module Federation, but they should understand the implications of it on edge
  • We have several workloads that use edge compute, and we create our own workloads using edge compute as well
  • A couple of other items on my roadmap for the team is to do a comprehensive Edge Caching, VCL, and Compute audit and create long-term strategies for them
  • This team will interface a lot with engineers from other teams
  • This team might also be creating some of their own tools and apps to support the work they do
  • some flex with remote but need to be located in Miramar, Dallas, Seattle, Minneapolis Saint Paul
  • Biggest thing is that they need a strong focus on Fastly, Compute@Edge, VCL and WAF
  • Current team consists of a senior and principle engineer

Overview:
Looking for a platform engineer with a strong focus on Fastly, Compute@Edge, VCL and WAF.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong focus on Fastly, Compute@Edge, VCL and WAF
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js for backend development.
  • Strong experience with Edge technologies CDN, WAF, VCL, Compute, and Caching strategies.
  • Practical experience working with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, Cognito, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in cloud environments.
  • Good understanding of Microservices, MFEs, and module federation principles.
  • Experience with security best practices in distributed systems, including CIAM, authentication/authorization, and data protection.
