Technical Business Analyst

Job Title: Technical Business Analyst Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Technical Business Analyst to support our Energy, Oil & Gas domain client in delivering high-impact technology solutions aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and product owners to gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business users and IT teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, process flows, and use cases.
Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of solutions.
Participate in solution design, testing, and validation phases.
Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups.
Conduct gap analysis and recommend process improvements.
Provide support for UAT and coordinate defect tracking/resolution.
Assist in data analysis and reporting using tools like Excel, SQL, or Power BI.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong technical aptitude.
Previous experience working in the Energy, Oil & Gas domain (preferred).
Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, SQL, and Excel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems or enterprise platforms.
Familiarity with data modeling or integration projects.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
