About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Full Stack Software Engineers to join the Counterparty Credit Risk Technology team within the Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) group. This team supports the development and maintenance of a high-performance risk simulation platform used to calculate exposure metrics and monitor counterparty credit limits.

This role is part of a long-term initiative to modernize the existing risk platform, with a focus on maintaining current applications and contributing to future redesign efforts. You will work closely with business stakeholders and junior developers in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full stack applications using Java, SQL, and Angular/React.
• Perform stress testing and simulation of risk scenarios.
• Write advanced SQL queries to extract and aggregate data from risk reports.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily scrums and sprint planning.
• Collaborate with business analysts and technical leads to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Maintain and enhance UI components for the risk portal.
• Contribute to database modernization efforts using Iceberg and other Big Data technologies.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or equivalent (consulting, military, education).
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Core Java
  • Angular or React
  • Advanced SQL
• Experience working in Agile development teams.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and scalable code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Big Data technologies (Iceberg, Spark, Hadoop).
• Familiarity with Capital Markets or Risk Management systems.
• Understanding of distributed computing frameworks (e.g., IBM Platform Symphony, Autosys).
• Experience with in-memory caching systems (e.g., Coherence).

Additional Information

• This is a net-new position as part of a pilot program.
• Contractors will primarily handle BAU maintenance while full-time staff focus on redesign.
