Software QA Engineer (Long-Term, Remote)

If you re the kind of person who gets a little thrill when your test script finally catches that sneaky bug hiding in the code, you re in the right place. We re iSphere and for 25 years we ve been helping great people land on projects that matter.

Right now, we re looking for a Software QA Engineer to jump into a long-term, remote role with the Texas Education Agency. Translation: you ll be testing apps and reports that actually help keep schools running. Not a bad way to spend your day.

What You ll Be Doing

  • Turning user requirements and design docs into rock-solid test cases.

  • Automating the boring stuff (Selenium + TestNG) and catching regressions before they bite.

  • Digging into HTML, PDF, and Excel reports, validating every last detail, and documenting what you find.

  • Writing SQL queries that make sure the data tells the truth.

  • Working side-by-side with devs and stakeholders to keep everyone on the same page.

  • Running performance and accessibility testing because fast and usable beats slow and clunky any day.

  • Getting your hands dirty with manual testing and data validation when needed.

What You Already Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years testing complex web apps and working across the full SDLC.

  • A proven track record automating tests with Selenium and TestNG.

  • Strong SQL chops (5+ years), and at least 3 years of Java programming.

  • Comfort with Apache POI and Apache PDFBox for all things document-based.

  • Experience with performance testing tools like WAPT Pro or JMeter.

Bonus points for:

  • Playing nice with WebTables, Zephyr Scale, or JIRA.
