Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, including planning, development, and troubleshooting. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure data availability and consistency across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

Monitor system performance and ensure high levels of database availability

Perform regular backups, restore operations, and disaster recovery procedures

Implement database security measures and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage strategies

Develop and maintain documentation of database architecture and procedures

Support developers with database design and query optimization

Plan and implement data migrations, upgrades, and patches with minimal downtime

Perform capacity planning and forecasting of database infrastructure

Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (if applicable)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

3+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA

Strong proficiency in database technologies such as:

RDBMS: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL

NoSQL: MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra (preferred but not mandatory)

Proficiency in writing SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views

Experience with high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication, failover)

Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)

Knowledge of backup strategies and recovery models

Strong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and monitoring

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)

Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible

Exposure to CI/CD processes and automated database deployment

Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL tools
