Job Description:

Apex Systems is hiring for a Jr. App Dev Engineer for a major Healthcare company.

6 months contract to hire.

FULLY REMOTE anywhere in the United States.

You must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

About the role:

IT-Services-Marketplace builds, maintains, and enhances software services that support the enrollment billing, and payment activities of the Marketplace insurance product. Team culture is very tight knit and supportive; however, it is very fast paced and autonomous. Even new team members are expected to be self-starters capable of managing a steep learning curve with supportive correction and minimal direction. Key projects for this role will be upgrading most of the code base from Python version 3.8 to 3.12 or higher.

Education/Experience:

A Bachelors degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 0 - 2 years of related experience.

Day to Day:

Team member will be expected to attend ceremonies including Daily Scrum standup, 2 weekly refinements, daily DEV meetings to discuss development specific challenges the team is facing and solicit help/ mentorship from peers, and every other week Sprint retros.

Team member may be asked to give regular demos of work they are doing to receive feedback or give feedback on other member's demos.

Team member will be responsible for estimating work effort and executing against estimate while providing updates on blockers or obstacles as they arise.
