Medical Center is seeking a contract to hire Cybersecurity Engineer in Miami! (33166)


Our Client's Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for helping establish and maintain a corporate-wide information security technology program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected. This includes having an up-to- date understanding of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, managing and supporting existing security solutions, evaluating, designing, and implementing new technical security controls and working to meet Client's security objectives.



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Demonstrate familiarity with HIPAA and HITRUST regulations.

  • Apply knowledge of NIST Security Frameworks to ensure compliance.

  • Assist in maintaining all technical security controls within the organization.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of security infrastructure, focusing on continuous improvements and system hardening.

  • Configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot various information security technologies including anti-virus, end-point, NAC, and email security solutions.

  • Monitor security alerts for various systems and databases, notifying management of security issues and providing recommendations for resolution.

  • Make recommendations to reduce the frequency and duration of incidents impacting confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

  • Conduct data analysis of system logs and reports.

  • Assist in the selection, testing, implementation, documentation, operation, and maintenance of various information security technologies such as authentication devices, access controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS/SIEM/EDR systems, malware detection systems, forensic, and vulnerability management tools.

  • Support disaster recovery activities as required.

  • Provide support to end-user community on security-related issues.

  • Collaborate with external vendors on hosted security services provided to the organization.

  • Collaborate with IT and business units on new and existing projects to identify security requirements ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assets.

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.


Knowledge and Experience:



  • Possess at least 3 years of experience in information security, privacy engineering, security engineering, systems architecture, or system development.

  • Demonstrated experience in threat modeling, risk identification, and data protection practices.

  • Previous exposure to environments containing sensitive information and data.

  • Proven experience in identifying security vulnerabilities and implementing mitigations.

  • Familiarity with patch management tools.

  • Experience with Data Privacy regulations, DLP violations, EDR, Incident Response


Education / Certifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree (STEM) or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

  • Working experience with security technologies such as firewalls, DLP solutions, vulnerability scanners, anti-virus solutions, SIEM, NAC, email gateway solutions, and content proxies.

  • Extensive experience working on network and data security infrastructure.

  • Preferred experience with Juniper, Proofpoint, Carbon Black, Forescout, Nessus, CITRIX, Palo Alto technologies.

  • Preferred certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), SANS GIAC, CCNA/NP, Security + or related security certification.
