Job Description

Focus on Creo design, large model management, top-down design, vehicle packaging, concept development less on detail design and drawing creation

Job Responsibilities:
Screening questions:
Up front design experience, conceptual design (Creo)
Top down design and modeling
Managing large assembly models
Vehicle packaging
Space claims and design integration
Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems and/or CAD administration, more of a plus
Diverse design experience, hands-on and very disciplined
BSME preferred but not necessary
Physical Architect, Design, & Master Modeler
o Apply working knowledge of CAD systems to develop overall vehicle architecture in coordination with the engineering staff and project technical authority
o Assist product development by supporting large CAD model management, vehicle subsystem packaging, development gate review, and body of evidence generation.
o Manage space allocations between subsystems and components
o Coordinate design staff needs
o Provide design/integration guidance to designers
PLM Administrator
o Create a roadmap for the tool(s) necessary to support all known key business pursuits, and improve internal and external collaboration
o Support implementation of a CAD and PLM system by acting as the lead point of contact, key strategist, and liaison between leadership, engineering, IT, and tool developers or implementation consultant
o Define tool requirements, and develop a trade study as necessary to select appropriate CAD and PLM systems
o Outline resources needed to implement, maintain and support, and grow the toolset and business & technical efforts
o Establish design standards/guides, best practices, to ensure designs are consistent, repeatable, and efficient across the business
o Ensure that all efforts are scalable with future business growth and demands
o Collect feedback from all stakeholders and end-users to identify pain points and continuously improve the tool(s), processes, and procedures
o Meet with business steering board regularly to present status, identify needs, and next steps
Support and adhere to all company safety and environmental regulations & policies
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Occasional travel to Europe will be required
Undertake other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Education:
AS Product Design or equivalent preferred
Experience:
10 or more years experience in product design and development, preferably US Defense programs
Experience with CAD (i.e. ProE CREO,UG Nx, Solid Works, CATIA) software and 3D Printing, as well as general Material (e.g. Steel, Aluminum, Ceramic) properties.
Experience with implementing, governing, and maintaining PLM systems
Knowledge of Systems based design and related Standards/Processes
Ability to present technical solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
Familiarity with the US DoD ground vehicle requirements and technical design standards
Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and acquisition
Familiarity with the US Army TACOM / TARDEC organizations
Practical 'hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independently.
Currently hold or have ability to apply for a SECRET US Defense clearance
Experience of working in a multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment.

Experience with engineering and supply chain management in a highly regulated industry.
