Job Title: Senior Life Insurance Underwriter
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Location: Fully Remote
Schedule: Full-Time, 8 hours/day (Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with flexibility)
Pay Rate: $41-$42/hour
Contract Type: (9-months)
About the Role
We are seeking a Life Underwriting Senior Analyst to join a highly collaborative and fast-paced underwriting team. This individual will be responsible for evaluating life insurance applications across multiple lines of business, including both traditional and accelerated underwriting channels. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, technical expertise, and clear communication, while meeting productivity and service-level expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Risk Evaluation & Decision-Making:
Underwrite personal and business life insurance cases independently, with collaboration on more complex or impaired risks. Navigate traditional and accelerated workflows while ensuring alignment with mortality and risk tolerance objectives. -
Comprehensive Risk Analysis:
Assess a range of underwriting factors such as:-
Medical history and diagnoses

Financial position and insurance justification

Lifestyle and occupational risk

Behavioral indicators and fraud red flags

Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate underwriting decisions and rationale clearly to internal teams, sales partners, and external clients. Provide insights to improve customer experience. -
Accelerated Underwriting Support:
Apply knowledge of algorithmic risk tools and predictive models used in fluidless underwriting. -
System Navigation:
Work within underwriting platforms and databases, staying adaptable to evolving tools and technologies.
Required Qualifications

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities across fluidless and traditional cases

Working knowledge of medical terminology, co-morbidities, and risk indicators

Experience with financial underwriting principles

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

In-depth knowledge of life insurance products (term, whole life, chronic illness riders)
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in life underwriting with accelerated workflows

FLMI, AALU, or equivalent industry certifications
