Responsibilities
Skills / Experience Required
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering or related roles, with proven support of DoD or federal programs
- Experience in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or C#
- Experience with agile development, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git)
- Knowledge of DoD software development lifecycle (SDLC), cybersecurity standards, and mission-critical systems
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or DoD Cloud) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of system integration, APIs, and middleware
- Familiarity with DoD functional mission areas of sustainment, maintenance, and life cycle support; prior experience on related projects is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to design innovative solutions under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting technical solutions to senior leadership
- Lead the design, development, testing, and integration of software applications for DoD systems
- Translate mission and operational requirements into scalable software architectures and solutions
- Develop secure, efficient, and maintainable code in compliance with DoD cybersecurity and software assurance standards
- Collaborate with system engineers, program managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with program objectives
- Conduct code reviews, performance testing, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability
- Guide junior engineers through mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Support DevSecOps pipelines and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes for rapid deployment
- Prepare documentation, technical reports, and briefings for leadership and stakeholders
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (if applicable to field of study)
- DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification (e.g., Security+)
- Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP)
- AWS/Azure Professional Certification (Cloud Solutions)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar DevSecOps/Containerization certifications
