Position Title: General Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $25/hr - $27/hr on W2
Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to support facility operations in Owensboro, KY. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical, electrical, and building systems experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
In this position, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, execute repairs, ensure safety compliance, and support daily operational continuity. You ll also manage work orders, communicate with internal teams and contractors, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines, including lockout/tagout and facility safety procedures.
Conduct routine facility rounds to inspect equipment, document performance, and identify maintenance needs.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems such as:
HVAC units, pumps, motors, VFDs, transformers, and electrical components
Fire/life safety systems
Plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems
Dock equipment: overhead doors, dock levelers, seals, and locks
Interior/exterior lighting systems and 120V outlets
Perform preventative maintenance and replace expendables (belts, filters, hoses, fluids, etc.).
Rebuild or repair mechanical and electrical components including valves, steam traps, pumps, and solenoid devices.
Complete administrative duties such as part ordering, PO creation, and vendor coordination.
Accurately document work in the CMMS and recommend updates to PM schedules.
Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and facility staff regarding work progress.
Provide support or oversight to subcontractors during maintenance or repair projects.
Perform additional maintenance tasks as assigned by the Site Manager.
Required Skills/Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school training preferred.
Minimum 4 years of experience in facility, mechanical, electrical, or general maintenance.
Valid driver s license; forklift, JLG, and aerial lift certifications preferred.
Proficiency reading manuals, diagrams, work orders, and procedural documents.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and safely operate maintenance equipment.
Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building operations.
Ability to operate computers, mobile devices, CMMS platforms, and building automation systems.
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under changing priorities and support weekend or non-standard schedules when needed.
Basic math and measurement proficiency (area, volume, percentages, basic geometry).
