Title: Component Design Engineer- Gas Turbine Gears (Only W2 Candidates)

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Description:
Hybrid- 3 days per week onsite; days will vary

Must Have:

Experience:
5+ years
Gas Turbine
Competitor Experience- Preferred

Education:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field. (Master s or PhD in a relevant discipline may substitute for experience.)
Several years (depending on level) of mechanical/component design experience, preferably in gear systems, rotating equipment or aerospace applications.
U.S. Citizenship (or necessary eligibility) if working in a U.S.-based role

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver new component designs and design changes for high-performance gas turbine gears (and related transmission components such as shafts, bearings, seals) including creation of design concepts, optimisation, final definition, drawings/model-based definitions, and hardware release.
Perform strength, lifing, durability, and performance analyses to validate component suitability for new engine applications or life extension of existing ones.
Manage dimensional tolerance stacks, GD&T, and tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability of gear systems.
Interface with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and aftermarket teams: review supplier documentation, assess non-conforming hardware, handle change proposals, support production and service issues.
Conduct investigations of in-service or prototype hardware issues including failure analysis, root cause & corrective action (RCCA), and implement design improvements.
Present and defend design solutions to programme leadership, collaborate across multi-discipline teams (analysis, manufacturing, materials, MRO, etc.).
Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace design standards, safety and product integrity principles.
