Job Title: Program Manager

Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire

Location: (Remote) Bloomington, MN - must work and live in EST or CST timezone

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a dynamic Transformation Program Manager with deep expertise in Risk Capital and comprehensive business knowledge across the commercial risk insurance broking value chain from Prebind to Post bind.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker who can articulate and solve key commercial risk process and technology challenges, develop compelling business cases that clearly explain the 'Why' for change, and effectively engage with stakeholders across Business and Technology.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a strong point of view on solutioning, possess excellent communication skills for drafting executive materials, and demonstrate the ability to drive value realization through transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Shape and execute transformation strategies that enhance how our client delivers Commercial Risk solutions across markets and solution lines
  • Lead the development of a holistic strategic transformation plan, aligning technology, operations, and functional advancements with long-term business goals
  • Apply Commercial Risk expertise to inform strategy, ensuring initiatives are grounded in a strong understanding of the insurance value chain, including risk analytics, risk assessment, broking, placement, policy issuance, servicing, cash cycle management and claims resolution

Problem-Solving & Analysis

  • Support business/operational problem-solving through relevant analytical approaches and customized solutions
  • Work with leadership to identify transformation opportunities in technology, operations, and corporate functions, particularly targeting inefficiencies across the Commercial Risk lifecycle from pre-bind to post-bind stages
  • Structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them by focusing on the most important challenges

Program Management & Execution

  • Shape early-stage program strategy by refining opportunities, aligning stakeholders, and developing executive-ready business cases and presentations
  • Oversee the execution of strategic/transformation initiatives across Technology, Operations, and other Functions, fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring seamless project management
  • Manage all aspects of a transformation project, including relationships with various stakeholders
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress towards strategic goals and recommend adjustments as needed

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaboratively work with other team members, within/across teams spread across multiple countries, to develop recommendations, plans, and other materials
  • Provide guidance and oversight to project teams involved in transformational projects, ensuring initiatives are delivered with measurable impact
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, conveying complex information and progress reports in a clear and concise manner

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in a strategic leadership role overseeing transformation initiatives within a large corporate environment or a management consulting firm
  • Subject matter expertise in Commercial Risk, including knowledge of P&C (Property and Casualty), Specialty Lines, or industry-specific risk solutions
  • Strong understanding of the insurance value chain, from Risk Analytics, broking, underwriting, and placement to service delivery, cash cycle management and claims resolution
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts such as Capital Expenditures (CapEx) and Operational Expenditures (OpEx), and their relevance in transformation program planning and business case development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create compelling and visually effective executive-ready presentations
  • A decisive and results-oriented leader with a strong track record of delivering strategic objectives
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or with global insurance brokers or carriers
  • Prior experience with leading management consulting firms
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability to roll up the sleeves and do the work as needed
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis in solving complex organization problems (e.g., operating model design)

The projected hourly range for this position is $70-80/hr.
