Responsibilities:
This Cobol Mainframe Programmer 6 (CMP6) will work on high profile mainframe application projects within the Client, maintain online and batch application programs by reviewing, analyzing, coding, testing, and debugging application code
They will develop specifications, diagrams, flowcharts and documentation. The CMP6 will analyze and develop programs using COBOL, DB2, XML, and JCL for the new enhancements
The CMP6 will implement application changes, enhancements and new applications and provide post implementation support. Knowledge on .NET, C#, SQL Server are nice-to-have skills
Be responsible for providing technical solutioning on complex eligibility application and its architecture
Works closely with the project lead and management to understand and prioritize project tasks
Solves complex technical problems
Understands business objectives and problems
Understand the requirements, analyze the system impact, develop process documents and flowcharts, design, code, unit/integration test and deploy using mainframe tools and technologies
Collaborate with analysts, QA, and business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions
Conduct code reviews and participate in unit and smoke testing
Create and maintain technical documentation, database models, and system architecture diagrams
Provide post-production support and resolve system issues in a timely manner
Ensure adherence to development standards, performance optimization, and security best practices
