Summary
This is a key role within Mechanical Engineering, responsible for support of fluidics and mechatronics subsystem design team(s) testing. The subsystems being tested are critical to the accuracy and efficiency of the company Diagnostic instruments which are used to diagnose and drive patient treatment. Extreme attention to detail and quality are of the utmost importance to ensure the systems operate as required. The ideal candidate will have the ability and drive to work with engineering design team(s) to develop fixtures, set up and conduct tests for mechanical/fluidics subsystems used in medical devices. Ability to generate 3D parts/assemblies, develop test plans, set up and run fixtures to carry out test plan. Once testing is completed, create detailed test reports and communicated to the design team.
Responsibilities
Work within a cross-functional team to develop fluidic and mechanical test fixtures
Develop test plans with design engineering team(s)
Carryout test plans, generate formal reports and communicate results to design team
Support detailed engineering analysis of new and existing designs to verify robustness and design intent.
3D Model creation and design assembly of test fixtures
Design of sheet metal, machined and 3D printed parts as well as 3D assemblies
Produce detailed drawings utilizing GD&T and CAD Infrastructure engineering best practices.
Ensure laboratories are kept organized and clean to ensure a safe work environment
Maintain equipment and ensure all requiring calibration are current per quality standards
Participate in design reviews with a cross-functional team.
Collaborate with engineers, machinists and management to achieve project objectives.
