Job Description:

BCC Engineering, a Parsons Company is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support the structural design of various building systems under the supervision of a licensed engineer by preparing calculations, drawings, and reports, performing inspections, managing assigned tasks, and contributing to team collaboration, innovation, and professional development.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Working under the supervision of a licensed engineer, analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for reinforced concrete, foundations and retaining structures, pre-stressed/post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, timber, and concrete repair & restoration
  • Gain experience in the application of appropriate structural engineering principles, including building application of vertical & lateral forces (wind & seismic), mechanics of structures, finite element analysis (FEA), and structural dynamics of buildings
  • Approach tasks with an open mindset; propose innovative solutions to design problems
  • Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer;
  • May track and provide initial review tasks of technicians or designers
  • Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks
  • Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups; external communication as required on assigned tasks
  • Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings; may attend and contribute to presentations with external parties
  • Conduct special inspections of Structural Systems (Concrete, Steel, Masonry, Wood)
  • Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns
  • Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports
  • Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
    Emphasis on Structural Engineering preferred
  • 1 - 3 years of experience

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT)

Salary Range: $26.25 - $45.96
