About the Role:

CrowdStrike is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Data Platform - Distributed Graph Storage Systems team. This role is responsible for leading the development of the next-generation security platform for CrowdStrike which include an application and service delivery platform, massively scalable distributed data storage and replication systems, and a cutting-edge search and distributed graph system. You will own driving the technical strategy and roadmap for building and maintaining core components, enabling other internal teams to create customer facing features. As the company grows and gets new customers, you will be instrumental in hiring, retaining and growing a team of world class engineers. You need to have hands-on experience in building cloud solutions, leading people and projects. You need to work closely with product management to understand customer requirements and cross functionally with peers and senior leadership to deliver innovative products that can scale with increased demand. We are a remote-first company so you must bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to bear when you are working with your engineering teams and cross-functional teams across the globe. It is not necessary for this role to have prior security industry experience.

What You'll Need:
  • A demonstrated track record of building a strong core engineering team and engineering team management
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience in all phases of a software development lifecycle
  • 3+ years of hands-on management experience leading engineering teams
  • A solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Broad grounding in all aspects of distributed systems development: understanding of distributed systems concepts and API development
  • Solid design and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated passion for engineering excellence, quality, security, and performance
  • MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Proven track record of building, operationalizing, and maintaining highly scalable systems


Bonus Points:
  • Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence
  • Experience in Golang and/or container and container orchestration technologies
  • Prior experience working with Graph databases
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments (cloud and data center)
  • Exposure to container orchestration technologies
