Job Details
Role: Mainframe Developer with IMS DB
Location: Wilmington, DE- 5 Days a week Onsite
Duration: Long Term Contract
Pay Rate: USD 50.hr W2(Without Benefits) Max
No C2C via third party
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS DB and JCL.
- Write and optimize IMS DLI calls and work with PSB, DBD, ACB components.
- Perform impact analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting in a production support environment.
- Work with VSAM, DB2, and IMS databases as part of batch and online processing.
- Create and maintain JCL scripts and procedures to support batch job processing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in application and database design reviews.
- Ensure code meets performance, security, and quality standards.
- Support system integration, testing, deployment, and documentation activities.
- Participate in on-call support for critical production issues (as needed).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience as a Mainframe Developer.
- Strong expertise in IMS DB, including DLI programming and hierarchical database concepts.
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
- Experience with IMS control blocks (DBD, PSB, ACB).
- Ability to write and debug batch and online applications.
- Familiarity with ISPF, Endevor/Changeman or similar mainframe tools.
- Good understanding of mainframe job scheduling tools (e.g., CA7, Control-M).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
