What to expect

The Tooling Services organization is looking for a Chapter Lead supporting our Monitoring Cluster. Chapter Leads typically spend 50% of their time managing people within their chapter (team), and the rest of their time dedicated to technical delivery

In this role you will:
  • Be responsible for staffing, building expertise and maintaining a common approach to similar activities within your team
  • Act as a coach, building and developing team members, understanding and identifying their needs and implementing appropriate actions.
  • Optimise work functions and inter-functional processes while ensuring high quality results
  • Provide technical assistance to the team, organize knowledge transfer and orchestrate the performance management for the team members
  • Be responsible to develop and maintain best in class Engineering practices in direct support of the delivery the squad objectives
  • Be a part of the local leadership team collaborating with the US Tooling Engineering Director leading change, staff development and operational excellence across the larger organization
  • Use your DevOps expertise and skills to accelerate the evolution of our Infrastructure monitoring platform and services towards zero touch Infrastructure (IaC) and self-services
  • Become the domain expert for Infrastructure monitoring for Swift


What will make you successful?

We are seeking professionals with:
  • 4 or 5-year university degree in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT/software delivery, preferably working with architectures focusing on security and SaaS delivery models
  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages (Java, Python preferred) with good understanding of OOP
  • 3+ years of experience working in Unix and/or Linux environments
  • 2+ years of experience as team lead/people manager
  • Familiarity or experience with Infrastructure components (Compute, Network, Storage) and related monitoring/observability technologies (ScienceLogic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, ServiceNow, Elastic) will be added advantage
  • Excellent problem solving and analytics skills, with proven experience of requirements gathering and translating requirements into technical deliveries
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and be confident presenting ideas and designs to different partner levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills, customer centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversity
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with local and remote teams in different time zones


Preferred qualifications:
  • Practical working experience in an Agile driven team
  • System engineer experience
  • 3+ years of DevOps concepts and tools: CI/CD, Zero Touch, IaC through Ansible, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Git, Docker, Openshift, etc.
  • Familiarity or experience with SOA technologies such as micro-services, REST, SOAP
  • Experience in API benchmarking with tools such as JMeter, Postman
  • Relevant certifications in the above technologies


The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $113,330 minimum to $210,470 Maximum USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
