DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for FIVE experienced Electrical Studies Engineers with 5 to 10+ years of power delivery industry experience. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about power systems analysis, protective relaying, and delivering client-focused engineering solutions. You ll be part of a dynamic team supporting utility, industrial, and commercial clients across both conventional and renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute electrical studies and protective relay settings projects.
  • Analyze systems including generation facilities, substations, and transmission/distribution networks.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships through technical excellence and proactive communication.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal development and business growth.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Technical Focus Areas:

You will work in one or more of the following disciplines:

  1. Design Studies
  • Substation grounding, EMF, insulation coordination, transient simulation, power quality, motor starting, AC interference.

Tools: CDEGS, WinIGS, ATP-EMTP, PSCAD.

  1. Protective Relaying:
  • Short circuit analysis, coordination, relay settings, SCADA integration, NERC compliance, arc flash.

Tools: SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, CAPE, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS.

  1. Power System Planning
  • Load flow, contingency analysis, interconnection studies, voltage stability, dynamic performance, NERC compliance.

Tools: PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, Python scripting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant power industry experience (10+ years preferred).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced coursework or training in protective relaying, power system transients, or electromagnetics.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng.) license.
  • Proficiency in multiple technical disciplines and associated software tools.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing engineering projects.
