DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for FIVE experienced Electrical Studies Engineers with 5 to 10+ years of power delivery industry experience. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about power systems analysis, protective relaying, and delivering client-focused engineering solutions. You ll be part of a dynamic team supporting utility, industrial, and commercial clients across both conventional and renewable energy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute electrical studies and protective relay settings projects.
- Analyze systems including generation facilities, substations, and transmission/distribution networks.
- Maintain and enhance client relationships through technical excellence and proactive communication.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal development and business growth.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Technical Focus Areas:
You will work in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Design Studies
- Substation grounding, EMF, insulation coordination, transient simulation, power quality, motor starting, AC interference.
Tools: CDEGS, WinIGS, ATP-EMTP, PSCAD.
- Protective Relaying:
- Short circuit analysis, coordination, relay settings, SCADA integration, NERC compliance, arc flash.
Tools: SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, CAPE, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS.
- Power System Planning
- Load flow, contingency analysis, interconnection studies, voltage stability, dynamic performance, NERC compliance.
Tools: PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, Python scripting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant power industry experience (10+ years preferred).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced coursework or training in protective relaying, power system transients, or electromagnetics.
- Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng.) license.
- Proficiency in multiple technical disciplines and associated software tools.
- Proven experience in customer-facing engineering projects.
