The incumbent will provide engineering support and leadership for electrical system engineering and safety programs, engineering support to maintenance, operations and engineers in production areas throughout the plant. The successful incumbent will also provide electrical engineering and continuous improvement leadership, problem solving, technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems, maintenance and engineering training and documentation. This pers will also develop, manage and implement capital projects, major repairs and maintenance activities and provide some electrical engineering support to all manufacturing and plant areas.



Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Engineering support and leadership of the electrical system engineering and safety programs,Engineering support and leadership to maintenance, operations and engineers in production areas throughout the plant. The successful incumbent will also provide electrical engineering and continuous improvement support, problem solving, technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems, maintenance and engineering training and documentation. This person will also develop, manage and implement capital projects, major repairs and maintenance activities and provide some electrical engineering support to applicable manufacturing and plant areas.



Skills:

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.Minimum of 5 years' experience and working knowledge of electrical systems and manufacturing processes and principles.Electrical engineering experience with industrial high voltage and 480VAC power distribution, transformers, automation, process control systems, drives, and PLC's. Experience leading, managing and implementing electrical projects including design, installation, and commissioning.Oversee the activities of craft persons involved in the implementation of engineered solutions and maintenance activities. In this role, be able to initiate and maintain an ongoing dialogue with personnel to identify issues, clarify requirements, and facilitate use of safe work practices, personal protective equipment, clearance / lock-tag-verify procedures.Manage external vendors who provide electrical design and support functions.Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and with cross functional teams.



Preferred Qualifications:5 years' experience in high voltage electrical equipment and component engineering, design and application specification, maintenance and failure analysis. 10 years' experience and working knowledge of electrical systems and manufacturing processes and principles.Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.Experience in estimating, justifying, managing and installing capital projects. Experience designing, installing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical power and control systems and equipment, including transformers, switchgear, transmission lines, sub-stations, breakers and relays. Working knowledge of electrical engineering, industry safety standards and related codes and specifications. Strong electrical engineering, maintenance and reliability background.Understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc. Strong written and oral communications skills. Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.



Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
