IT Systems & Cloud Administrator

SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the IT Manager, the Systems Administrator provides support for the Agency's network, servers, desktops laptops and all peripherals. This includes Windows System Administration, Network Administration, Office 365 Administration as well as phone support and field support to users of microcomputers in a network environment using a ticketing and asset management system.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systems & Infrastructure Administration:
- Administer Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, Group Policy, and CA Server.
- Manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, HA, DRS, and storage integration (NAS/SAN).
- Support and maintain Microsoft Terminal Server environment.
- Manage and maintain internal and external digital certificate operations.
- Automate tasks using PowerShell and scripting where applicable.
- Support backup and disaster recovery using Veeam.
- Configure and deploy NinjaOne Ticketing and RMM features for end-user and endpoint management.
Networking & Security:
- Maintain system and email security, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Configure and manage O365 SSO using SAML, OAuth, and SCIM.
Cloud Services & Backup:
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure: Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange Online, PowerApps, Conditional Access, and Defender.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud services using Sentinel and subsystem-specific tools.
- Support backup and recovery using Barracuda's O365 cloud backup services.
Technical Project Participation:
- Participates in IT projects such as Conditional Access design and implementation, Intune endpoint management policy implementation, SAN replacement, VMware upgrades, and similar projects.
- Works with 3rd party vendors for support and purchases.
Technical Support & End-User Services:
- Supports and promotes the mission of the Agency: Foothill Family empowers children and families on their journey to achieve personal success.
- Provides end-user support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, in-person, and remote access sessions.
- Troubleshoots and supports portable devices (laptops, tablets, phones).
- Manages network printers, including queue setup, hardware/software issue resolution, and user support.
- Creates and deploys master disk images for PC/laptop provisioning.
- Tracks work using NinjaOne ticketing system
- Creates and maintains technical documentation and end-user training materials.
Professional & Personal Development:
- Stays current with IT trends and recommend hardware/software improvements.
- Participates in cross-training in other IT areas to support team flexibility and coverage.
Other Duties:
- Communicates workflow and quality assurance concerns for IT leadership and affected personnel.
- Provides services relating to the administration of public funds or benefits, including eligibility for public funds or public benefits.
- Displays sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.
- Follows all policies, procedures and legal mandates including HIPAA, client confidentiality, releases of information, protected health information (PHI) and client files.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, ect.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in IT Systems, Network, Cloud Administration
- Hands-on experience configuring, managing, and maintaining Office 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online
- Prior experience implementing and managing Azure security tools such as Defender, Intune, Sentinel, MS Authenticator, and Purview
- Strong existing knowledge with VMware virtual infrastructures, including experience monitoring VMware logs and virtual machines and deep understanding of vSphere
- Strong working knowledge of network infrastructure, including Meraki wireless, switches, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and Layer 3 routing. Experience with Fortinet SD-WAN, VLANs, and VPNs would be a plus!
- Well-versed with ITSM and/or Help Desk ticketing systems (NinjaOne would be a plus!)
- Valid CA Driver's License and insurability on the agency's auto liability policy, or reliable transportation with required coverage.
- Ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
PREFERED/BONUS SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant Technology Certification (i.e., Microsoft, Azure, VMware, Cisco)
- Experience with Azure migrations and VMware & SAN upgrades
- Experience in creating policies, procedures, and documenting best practices for MS Office 365 applications and Azure Security tools
- Ability to perform automation tasks through scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO, and HIPP compliance frameworks
