Level 2 Server Administrator - Infrastructure Operations Support
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Contract)
Client: iSphere
iSphere is seeking a highly capable Level 2 Server Administrator for a short-term contract in Austin, TX. The contractor will support infrastructure operations by managing both Windows and Linux environments, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system reliability and security across all layers. Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Calling, system diagnostics, and server administration are essential.
Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.

Administer Windows and Linux operating systems.

Monitor system health, performance metrics, and server logs.

Troubleshoot issues escalated from Level 1 support or identified via monitoring tools.

Execute backup operations and ensure compliance with disaster recovery protocols.

Maintain IT security using access controls, firewalls, and vulnerability mitigation strategies.

Manage system updates, patches, and release deployments.

Maintain internal documentation, including server configurations and technical procedures.

Support Microsoft Teams Calling configuration and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with IT teams to support business continuity and system upgrades.
Minimum Requirements
Experience | Requirement |

7 Years | Experience supporting physical and logical network infrastructure |
7 Years | Familiarity with server administration practices and concepts |
4 Years | Proven work as a System Administrator or similar technical role |
3 Years | Experience with Linux-based systems |
3 Years | Experience with Windows Server environments |
3 Years | Microsoft Teams Calling (configuration and troubleshooting) |
3 Years | Proficiency in analyzing system logs and resolving technical issues |
3 Years | Ability to monitor server performance and implement improvements |
Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Exchange Server, and Office 365.

Familiarity with multi-factor authentication, encryption, and other security measures.

Strong organizational and documentation skills for managing internal wikis or technical repositories.

Experience working with Texas DIR or other public-sector clients.
