What you'll be doing:
Collaborate with insurance clients to gather detailed data and analytics requirements, design robust solutions, and implement a modern insurance data platform. You will play a key role in bridging core insurance systems with advanced reporting environments, leveraging your deep industry knowledge and data mapping expertise.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead complex data mapping efforts from core insurance systems (Policy, Claims, Billing, Underwriting) into an enterprise data warehouse, ensuring alignment with business rules and transformation logic.
- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements for data integration using tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Informatica.
- Create comprehensive business requirements documents and mapping specifications to drive design and delivery of data pipelines.
- Translate business needs into scalable solutions using Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Power BI, Tableau, and other modern analytics tools.
- Define and manage KPIs, dashboards, and reports to support strategic decision-making across underwriting, claims, and product management.
- Validate data quality and business logic using SQL queries, testing frameworks, and automated QA tools.
- Act as a subject matter expert on P&C insurance products and processes, ensuring technical solutions reflect industry nuance.
- Lead/facilitate client and stakeholder meetings using collaboration platforms like Teams, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Proactively identify and escalate data or project risks using Azure DevOps or similar project management tools.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:
- 3 5+ years of experience in P&C insurance, with deep knowledge of policy, claims, billing, and underwriting domains.
- Demonstrated experience mapping data from core insurance systems to enterprise data warehouses or analytics platforms.
- Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Talend, Informatica).
- Expertise in reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Oracle BI, with a focus on performance and usability.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud environments (preferably Azure) and insurance data models.
- Familiarity with data profiling, cleansing, and validation practices using tools such as SQL Server DQS or Trifacta.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead requirements gathering sessions and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Proven ability to lead projects through the full development lifecycle in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
