5-days per week for first 3-months; then if doing well, they can talk about 1-2x per week remote with the understanding that they have to be onsite when needed.

None; CCNA level experience

Experience:

7-10+ ideal ; will consider strong candidates with 5+

Top Must Have s:

Good understanding of networking.

Cisco switches, firewalls, and wireless.

Maintain documentation and deadlines

Good foundation of Cisco

Sense of urgency

They have to know CLI; Make changes of switches from IOS

CCNA level skillset

Nice to have skill is SQL

Where candidates have missed the mark:

Candidates have not passed technical screenings because:

1. Candidates haven t had enough experience on the enterprise level of Cisco.
2. Philadelphia Orchestra s wireless is Cisco Controller based, not Meraki. Some of the candidates had experience on the Meraki side.
3. The customer uses the newer Cisco firewalls, Next Gen Firewalls. Some of the candidates used older, or non-Cisco, types of firewalls.
4. The customer is newer Cisco switches, the 9300 switches. They are running a bigger 9400 chassis for their core.
5. VPN is important. Customer uses it for ticketing and marketing.
6. They would like someone who has lead projects and can make suggestions for optimization.
