The Global Architect will be responsible for product development and maintenance for a portfolio.
This role requires significant technical and functional expertise of SAP and ABAP programming with architectural strategy and guidance responsibilities.
To thrive in this development career, you'll need to be an expert in building SAP applications and have a firm grasp on SAP ABAP programming, with emphasis on ABAP HR/Payroll.
Responsibility is focused on the activities related to technical architecture, analysis and solution design, ABAP debugging and coding, configuration, and testing. The role uses defined processes to make enhancements and corrections to functionality, based on submitted issues and approved business requirements.
Proficiency in spoken and written English is a must.
The Global Architect is expected to manage priorities and work independently.
This role is expected to function independently based on project assignments and direction coming from one or more sources.
Reporting to the Director Software Engineering, the role interacts with a variety of organizational levels in Product and in Implementation, Service, and Support, but primarily, interaction is with peers in the Global Product Architect Team.
Specific interaction requirements are driven by the nature of assignments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Collaborate with Global Architects, Country Solution Architects, Product Management, Client Services to ensure that functionality is optimized between being feature-rich, easily implemented and maintained, highly usable and intuitive, and meets committed timelines, while remaining compliant with local regulations and best practices.
Communicate status of projects regularly to ensure no surprises and to proactively address potential roadblocks.
Educate internal resources on the technical aspects of developments and fixes through formal training, documentation, and ad hoc communications.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- You'll have a bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, Information Technology OR related technical field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of excellent SAP ABAP Development expertise and functional knowledge in SAP Payroll for at least one country.
- Experience working in capacity of Lead Engineer / Architect
- Experience in ABAP for S4/HANA environment, Object Oriented Programming, (CDS & RAP are a plus)
- Integration experience with other systems using Rest APIs, RFCs and OData Services.
- Experience with design, development of SAP Fiori UI5 applications is a plus.
- Prior experience working with SAP Payroll Control Center is a plus.
- Prior experience with working in agile environment and tools like Jira is an added advantage.
- Strong ability to translate key business requirements into design and solution with global approach in mind.
- Ability to create detailed development estimates based on design documents and requirement specifications in the form of User Stories and Features supplied by the Product Management team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Appreciation of cultural nuances differences and their impact on effective communication in a diverse global team setup
- Proven ability to manage own work effectively with little or no direction.
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes, tools, and team structure.
