Senior Backend Engineer (Remote)

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in building and maintaining cloud-first, scalable, and high-performing systems. This is not boilerplate work; you'll be entrusted with solving complex technical challenges, working with cutting-edge technologies such as Go (Golang), Azure, and Docker, and directly contributing to architecture decisions. You'll also have the chance to work across multiple exciting projects simultaneously while mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain microservices using Go (Golang) for seamless integration with third-party casino CMS systems and APIs.
  • Analyze technical documentation, design robust API integrations with REST and gRPC, and implement reliable solutions.
  • Optimize and manage SQL Server databases to ensure high performance and efficiency.
  • Containerize and deploy services using Docker, working within highly secure environments, often in DMZ configurations.
  • Collaborate on Azure cloud infrastructure tasks, such as configuring App Services and cloud resource management.
  • Troubleshoot and modernize older systems, effectively managing undocumented legacy codebases.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, sharing best practices and contributing to a collaborative engineering team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, scalable, and efficient backend services.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with proficiency inGo (Golang)and microservice architecture.
  • Strong experience in API development and integration (REST, JSON, gRPC).
  • Hands-on knowledge of SQL Server, including schema design and query performance optimization.
  • Practical experience withDockerfor containerization and deployment.
  • Familiarity withAzure Cloudservices, including App Services, networking, and infrastructure tuning.
  • Basic Linux administration skills.
  • A proven ability to execute complex integration projects independently.
  • A strong collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Knowledge of .NET Core (C#), particularly .NET 8 or higher.
  • Familiarity with highly regulated industries such as gaming, finance, or healthcare.
  • Experience with DevOps tools for CI/CD pipelines or Infrastructure-as-Code like Terraform.
