Responsibilities
- Design and integrate a belt system using knowledge of first principles, DFM/DFA, dimensional stack up, and other skillsets to ensure seamless part integration and performance
- Predict belt performance using belt routing simulation software and collaborate with CAE teams to optimize designs early
- Validate the system through dynamic driving, crash testing, and static deployment tests
- Develop algorithms using machine learning and computer vision to make next level safety systems
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop innovative new electromechanical safety systems
- Manage and direct tier-1 suppliers for development and meeting program milestones
- Prove out new design concepts by designing and fabricating custom vehicle integrated prototypes
- Thoroughly document procedures and results to ensure traceability and promote knowledge sharing among team members
Requirements
- Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in fabrication of engineering prototypes/mockups using power tools, 3D printing, and microcontrollers (Arduino / Raspberry Pi / etc.)
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, MATLAB, Git, and CAD (CATIA preferred)
- Experience with communications protocols like I2C, CAN, etc preferred

$92,720 - $206,520/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
