Duration: 12 month(s)
Pay Rate: $90 - $93/hr DOE
Required Degree:
BS STEM + 5yrs
Masters + 3yrs
BA/BS non related degree + 11yrs
NO DEGREE = 17 yrs experience
4 projects:
Project 1: Immigration & Minors Case Management
Define a modern, extensible case management architecture leveraging existing enterprise platforms where possible (e.g., low-code/case platforms, service management, document management, identity, AI/ML, data platforms).
Design AI-assisted document intake: OCR, classification, data extraction, validation against schemas, exception handling, and storage of PII with least-privilege access, encryption, and consent/lawful basis tracking.
Integrate with HRIS/ATS, identity/IAM, tasking/workflow, document repositories, e-signature, and scheduling; design event-driven integrations for status updates and SLA tracking.
Establish product roadmap, migration strategy from legacy systems, and service-level improvements to reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and mitigate compliance risk.
Project 2: Global Ethics & Compliance Management (GECM)
Architect the policy and procedure lifecycle: authoring, versioning, translations, distribution, attestations, and targeted communications across business units and geographies.
Deliver continuous, real-time compliance reporting via a governed data model, streaming/ETL, and analytics dashboards; implement control telemetry and evidence management.
Ensure multi-jurisdictional information governance and protection across platforms: GDPR, PIPL, ISPS, RIM; implement data residency, retention/disposition, DLP, and access controls.
Integrate third-party due diligence, anti-corruption, trade compliance screening, hotline/speak-up case management, training/LMS, and third-party risk tools.
Project 3: eDiscovery AI Strategy (Discovery Phase)
Lead a discovery effort with Legal, eDiscovery, InfoSec, and Privacy to define an adoption strategy for AI-enabled workflows across the EDRM.
Evaluate AI-assisted collection, processing, culling, technology-assisted review (TAR/CAL), privilege detection, and PII/PHI identification; assess benefits, risks, and controls.
Produce recommended reference patterns for safe AI use (RAG vs. fine-tuning, private endpoints, model selection, guardrails, audit, red-teaming) and a phased pilot plan with ROI/TCO.
Establish governance: model risk management, prompts/policies, data provenance, human-in-the-loop, and defensibility documentation.
Project 4: eDiscovery Transformation (Build-Out)
Define the target-state eDiscovery architecture across the EDRM, optimized for M365/Google/Slack/Zoom/Box/Teams and other enterprise sources; design connectors and defensible chain-of-custody.
Implement LLM capabilities in a secure enclave with granular access controls and logging; enable semantic search, summarization, privilege and issue tagging assistance, and automated QC.
Automate legal hold, preservation, and retention with strong RIM alignment; improve repeatability and reduce external spend via standardized playbooks and CI/CD for pipelines.
Stand up observability, cost controls, and KPIs to measure cycle time, review accuracy, and spend reduction; integrate with matter management and billing.
Description:
We are seeking a senior solutions architect with strong solution engineering background to lead architecture, prototyping, and delivery across four high-impact initiatives: Immigration & Minors Case Management, Global Ethics & Compliance Management (GECM), AI-enabled eDiscovery Strategy, and eDiscovery Transformation. You will partner with Legal, HR, Global Ethics & Compliance, Privacy, and Enterprise Technology to design secure, scalable, AI-enabled solutions that reduce risk, increase throughput, and lower external spend while leveraging existing enterprise platforms whenever possible.
What you'll do Cross-portfolio responsibilities
Own the end-to-end solution architecture and technical roadmap across four programs, aligning to enterprise standards, data protection requirements, and shared technology services.
Pair architecture with hands-on engineering: build PoCs, reference implementations, integration adapters, IaC modules, and CI/CD pipelines to de-risk delivery and accelerate time-to-value.
Drive build-vs-buy decisions, RFPs, vendor evaluations, and TCO modeling; maximize reuse of existing enterprise platforms and AI capabilities.
Define non-functional requirements, SLAs/SLOs, and performance/scalability targets; design for resilience, observability, and cost efficiency.
Embed privacy-by-design and security-by-design: DPIAs, threat modeling, data minimization, encryption/tokenization, DLP, retention/Legal Hold, and auditability.
Establish data architecture for PII, PCI, and sensitive matter data: classification, lineage, retention, and defensible disposal compliant with GDPR, PIPL, CCPA/CPRA, ISPS, and RIM.
Lead change management alongside product and legal ops: target operating model, roles/skills, process redesign, training, and adoption metrics.
Create and maintain solution blueprints, sequence diagrams, integration contracts, data models, and runbooks; mentor teams on best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years in solution architecture with 5+ years hands-on solution engineering (you still code when it matters).
Proven delivery of secure, data-intensive enterprise solutions in legal, compliance, HR, or adjacent regulated domains.
Strong with one or more clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and enterprise SaaS; can design hybrid patterns with private networking, KMS, and secrets management.
AI/ML literacy including LLM usage patterns: RAG, vector search, embeddings, prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, and model/service selection; understanding of AI risks and governance.
eDiscovery domain familiarity: EDRM phases, TAR/CAL, legal hold, privilege review, defensibility standards.
Privacy and security: GDPR, PIPL, CCPA/CPRA, RIM, DPIA, data minimization, encryption/tokenization, DLP, least privilege; experience collaborating with Privacy and InfoSec.
Integration expertise: event-driven architectures, APIs, ETL/ELT, data modeling, streaming, and workflow orchestration.
Excellent stakeholder management; able to translate legal/compliance needs into technical designs and measurable outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with at least two of the following: ServiceNow, Salesforce, Appian/Pega, Microsoft Purview eDiscovery, Relativity/RelativityOne, Reveal/Brainspace, Nuix, Exterro, OpenText, M365/Google Vault, NAVEX/Convercent, Workday, Okta/Azure AD.
Hands-on engineering: Python/TypeScript/Java; API design; data pipelines; OCR/NLP; vector databases/search; microservices; IaC (Terraform); containers/Kubernetes; CI/CD; observability (OpenTelemetry).
Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform architect-level).
Experience with records management, defensible disposition, and audit readiness.
Background supporting immigration/HR compliance or minors' data protection is a plus.
Required Education:
BS STEM
