Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Financial Accounting Analyst (FAA) will be responsible for various key functions that support participation and residual accounting.
The FAA will be responsible for research and analysis, reconciliation and presentation of participation and residual.
In addition, the FAA will work with our Finance partners and Participation and Residuals team to help ensure that all participation and residuals are accounted properly and provide accounting support, where needed.
Responsible for the accounting and reporting of participations and residuals for all of the Film Studios' business units
Prepare metrics to analyze the participation and residual balances, reconcile and research the participations and residuals accrual and payment accounts.
The research includes working with various financial systems including SAP, BRUCE (Participation and Residual system), Cognos, and R2.
Liaise with Participation & Residual and Finance partners to review and analyze any variances
Work on various ad-hoc reporting and projects for Senior Management
Prepare government and tax packages
Prepare and submit requests related to SOX compliance and quarter/year-end financial audits
Prepare various account reconciliations
Establish an environment of continuous improvement to identify, develop and implement process changes to increase accuracy of our financial records and efficiency of our processes
Basic Qualifications:
1-2 years accounting experience of public or private accounting experience
Quantitative and analytical skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to analyze and resolve issues from multiple stakeholders
Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
Ability to succeed in a team environment
Customer-service oriented
Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks
Excellent organization skills
Ability to manage competing priorities
Required Education: Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting
Preferred Education: CPA or CPA candidate preferred
