Senior Elastic Cloud Engineer

M9 Solutions is seeking a Senior Elastic Cloud Engineer to work hybrid remote/on-site on a government contract for a client located in Fairfax, VA.Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) and optimize for storage, compute, and reliability objectives of Elasticsearch clusters operating within ECE.
• Configure and monitor Elastic Cross Cluster Search (CCS) including connection management and troubleshooting.
• Follow life cycle processes to move solutions from development to test to pre-staging to production, including defining, designing, and implementing automated processes.
• Configure and maintain Linux based Operating system files in support of the Elasticsearch products such as yum updates and product version upgrades.
• Install and configure an ECE solution in non-production and production environments.
• Secure the solution with TLS, certificates, authentication, and encryption technologies.
• Define and implement logging and monitoring strategies to ensure optimal system performance.
• Test data flows, troubleshoot issues, and monitor the health of the solution and servers to maximize performance and minimize downtime.
• Define and implement data lifecycle management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more Junior resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Work Authorization: ship is required.
• Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust level clearance.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administering the Elastic stack including Elasticsearch clusters with at least 3+ years of this experience in a production environment.
• Experience defining and implementing logging strategies for purposes of system health monitoring and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administering ECE in a production environment, 2+ years of experience must be in a production environment.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Cloud infrastructure, preferably within AWS, to include scaling and capacity management for ECE.
• 1+ years of experience defining and implementing index lifecycle management policies including using frozen tier and searchable snapshots.
• Experience working with automated configuration management tools and playbooks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, Docker containers, and GitHub.
• Ability to proactively work independently as well as part of a team to achieve program objectives.
