Position: Linux Engineer
Location: Plano, TX or Charlotte, NC or Kennesaw, GA
Pay Range: $65 - $70/hr.
Duration: 12-18 Months (Possibility of Full-Time Conversion)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing our platform infrastructure to support full-stack application integration, performance management, security, configuration, and problem resolution. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies and make a significant impact on enterprise-level systems.
Responsibilities:
- Build and support a robust platform infrastructure to enable application integration, performance optimization, security, and problem management.
- Design, develop, and implement Ansible playbooks and roles to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments.
- Provide deep troubleshooting and technical support for hardware and software issues across Linux environments.
- Perform architectural design and create data flow diagrams using Visio.
- Assist production support teams to ensure platform reliability and operational excellence.
- Write and manage Jira stories and collaborate effectively within an Agile environment.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift container platforms.
- Strong experience with Shell scripting for automation.
- Proficiency in Apache Tomcat administration and tuning.
- Enterprise database administration experience with technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB, and SQL Server.
- Experience troubleshooting load balancers.
- Skilled in using Visio to create technical diagrams and workflows.
- Previous experience working in Agile teams and using Jira for backlog and story management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
